Please join us to connect with mindfulness community organization leaders and members who are involved in offering mindfulness programming online. Participants will engage in mindfulness practice, connect with community organization leaders, and have an opportunity to reflect and engage in dialogue regarding the considerations, challenges, and opportunities that arise while teaching mindfulness in a virtual environment.

Patricia Rockman MD, CCFP, FCFP is a physician with a focused practice in mental health. She is the co-founder and director of education and clinical services at the Centre for Mindfulness Studies (CMS) in Toronto. She is also an associate professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Family and Community Medicine cross appointed to Psychiatry. Patricia Rockman developed the MBCT Facilitation Certificate Program at CMS as well as numerous other workshops. She teaches locally, nationally and internationally in the area of mindfulness- based programs (MBSR, MBCT, Inquiry). She is a mentor for both MBCT and MBSR trainees. Inquiry as it relates to practice is a passion. She is a co-author with Susan Woods and Evan Collins of “Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy: Embodied
Presence & Inquiry in Practice,” (New Harbinger Publications, June 2019). She is also a trained Yoga teacher and has been teaching on stress, mindfulness, change management and other mental health issues for over thirty-five years. Centre for Mindfulness Studies
Theo Amory: E-Learning & IT Specialist, Theo coordinates both professional and clinical online programs at The Centre for Mindfulness Studies. With a background in Communications and Event Planning, Theo also oversees the Centre’s various ventures and ensures that the scope and direction of each project is on track. Mindfulness is a central part of his life and he is currently in the process of becoming mindfulness facilitator.Outside of work, Theo has a passion for writing poetry. Centre for Mindfulness Studies
Moustafa Abdelrahman, is a Registered Psychotherapist, a Meditation Teacher and an MBA and with over 18 years of corporate experience working with Fortune 100 companies worldwide. Having lived in both Canada and Middle East, he is familiar with the cultural issues and provides psychotherapy and meditation in both English and Arabic. He also has extensive experience working with and supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and allies.
Moustafa has been teaching hybrid in-person and online programs such as the contemplative psychotherapy 2 year program at the Nalanda Institute, as well as their Compassion Based Resilience Teacher Training certificate since late 2018. Heidi Bornstein, R.P., founder and acting executive director of Mindfulness Everyday, a register Canadian charity, has an extensive background in mindfulness, yoga and meditation. Heidi is trained as a Hatha yoga and meditation teacher, and received intensive training at the International Meditation Institute while living in India. She is a certified MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) Level 1 teacher, Hatha Yoga Teacher, Meditation and Level 2 SMARTeducation – Stress Managements and Resiliency Techniques for Educators (SMART) Facilitator and an Instructor for University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies. Heidi is on the steering committee for Mindfulness Toronto, a community of professionals dedicated to the principles and practice of mindfulness in all sectors of society and Discover Mindfulness, a volunteer organization helping to create communities, tools and awareness to bring mindfulness, well-being and mental health to Canadian schools, supporting yoga, meditation, and mindfulness programs for children, youth, teens, and adults in Toronto since 2002.
An Emmy award-winning producer, Marty Keltz was the co-founder and president of Scholastic Productions, Inc. (1978-1995) and a Senior Vice-President of New Media at Scholastic Inc. He led the teams that created over 300 hours of television programming, including The Magic School Bus, Goosebumps and My Secret Identity and was an executive producer for The Indian in the Cupboard and The Baby-Sitters Club feature films. Early in his career, as the publisher of Media & Methods magazine, he broke new ground with a publication for teachers with a focus on innovative multimedia products for use in classrooms. Theo Koffler, author, public speaker and educator, Theo is the founder of Mindfulness Without Borders, a registered non-profit and leading provider of evidenced-based programs on social-emotional learning and secular mindfulness to youth, educators, health and corporate professionals. In 2015 The Huffington Post recognized Mindfulness Without Borders as an organization that is providing meaningful and innovative solutions in bringing meditation to the masses that will shape the next decade.
