Veronica Vuong, PhD Candidate
Veronica Vuong is a PhD Candidate at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. She is also a musician and holds degrees in Music and Health Science (MA) and Music Education (BMus), alongside advanced music performance training (ARCT). Her multidisciplinary background in music, neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, and aging has enabled her to work with and study diverse groups across the lifespan, including people living with memory impairments, depression, traumatic brain injuries, stroke-related impairments, and chronic pain.
Veronica’s research portfolio explores contemplative interventions to support cognitive resilience in aging adults. Her research combines behavioural and neurophysiological methods to examine the effects of music-based interventions on autobiographical memory and brain activity, in older adults with and without mild cognitive impairment. Her work is supported by the Alzheimer Society and federal awards such as NSERC.
Committed to scientific rigour, integrity, and collaboration, Veronica serves as Director of Research, advancing the integration of contemplative science, practice, and community dialogue to support shared knowledge across the mindfulness professional network.
